Yes, it’s time to stop all the unwanted advertising  / commercial calls or messages on your Uninor Mobile from telemarketing, marketing agencies & all others. Subscribe to NCPR -National Customer Preference Registry, which replaced DND.

Already registered, and then check your NCPR (old DND) Subscription status online or Send SMS STATUS CPR to 1909 from your Uninor mobile number to get your status.
Not a Uninor Mobile customer, choose your mobile operator from TelecomDiary DND Activation Information page.

1) Activating DND (now NCPR) on Uninor Mobile.
DND can be activated by either SMS or Calling 1909 from your mobile number. 1909 is a toll-free number and Uninor will not charge you for sending SMS or making call to 1909.
It takes 7 days for any request to get processed.

2) Options and categories of NCPR (old DND) and modification to existing NCPR subscription.
To block unwanted commercial communication, you have two options to choose:-

i) Fully Blocked Category
If you don’t want any commercial communications at all on your mobile, neither as a SMS or voice call, subscribe to fully blocked category.
Send SMS | START 0 to 1909
Call          | 1909

ii) Partial Blocked Category
If you wish you get commercial communications by SMS of your preferred category and block rest of all, subscribed to partial blocked category. Note that, in this category all commercial voice calls will be blocked and only messages will be delivered.
This will allow you to get movie updates, latest deals in the market, SMS from online portals, or any particular interested commercial communication.
Send SMS | START X to 1909
Call          | 1909
Replace the X with the choice of your category and below is the category list:-
# 1Banking – Insurance – Financial Products – Credit Cards
# 2 | Real Estate
# 3Education
# 4 | Health
# 5Consumer Goods & Automobiles
# 6 | Communication – Broadcasting – Entertainment – IT
# 7Tourism
If you like to subscribe for multiple categories, separate the numbers with a comma. I.e., START 2,4,7.

To change your current subscription, give a fresh request of your choice.

3) De-Registration of DND (now NCPR).
De-Registration or de-activation of DND will make yourself you receive all kind of unwanted commercial calls and messages again.
Send SMS | STOP 0 to 1909
Call          | 1909

4) DND Complaint registration process
Complaint registration process for receiving commercial unwanted calls / messages, after NCPR (old DND) subscription.

5) Key points:-
i) DND (now NCPR), will never block any of your solicited communication like Bank alerts SMS, Bank communications, Ticket / online booking confirmations, etc.
ii) Each DND (now NCPR) request takes 7 days for the process and a confirmation SMS will be sent to you in 24 hours.
iii) There should be minimum 3 months gap between previous DND request or registration for a new request.
iv) 1909 is a Toll-free number, no charges applicable.

    “Your reference number for CPR deregistration is S39132879828. The service will be withdawn effective 7 days from now. Thank You!”

    However still now the DND service is active in my mobile.

  8. I had applied for complete de-registration of DND service for my mobile number +91 92319 23274 on 16/10/2011 at 11:40 PM. I had sent message, “STOP DND” to 1909. I had received the following message from 1909 “Hi! Do allow us 7 days to process your request for removal from Customer Preference. Your request ID is DND11137014912”.

    However, still now the DND service is active against my mobile number (+91 92319 23274).

    Requesting you to kindly de-activate / remove the DND service fully from my above mentioned cell phone number so that I could be able to receive promotional calls & SMSs from TATA DOCOMO and also from other services / service providers.

      Your Tata DoCoMo mobile number is not registered with NCPR ( old DND ).
      So you will get all commercials calls and messages on your number, if someone tries to send or call.

        Unfortunately I am sorry to say that the DND is still active in my mentioned number.

        Though it is not registered in the NCPR, but the same is being registered in the NDNC database.

        • Hello Subhendu Roy,

          Both NDNC and NCPR databases are same, as per our knowledge.
          What I observed is you have sent SMS STOP DND to deactivate, but as per the updated regulation you need to send only STOP to 1909.
          Its a question how Tata has accepted STOP DND as a request to deactivate, try sending only STOP.

          Also we suggest you to parallely lodge a complaint with Tata.

      Send SMS START 6 to 1909 from your Uninor mobile, withing 7 days you will receive messages from iBibo / way2sms and also similar websites if anyone sends you. But not possible to receive only from those two websites.

  12. As right now I am in Qatar (Middle-East) for 6 months. I tried to sent SMS on 1909 then I got reply from 1909 that Dear Customer we are unable to process your request. Please validate the keyword and submit again, or call our DND IVR 1909 for assistance.

    I have just write STOP in text message and sent on 1909. Is there anything else I need to write on message, please do let me know as I have to urgently deregister DND from my connection.

    I would like to register for DND, I could not find any link on the website to register through website. Whereas Airtel is providing this facility. However, I have tried to register the same through SMS. I have tried to send SMS to 1909 mentioning START 0, “START 0″, and START0 also, but could not succeed. I have received the SMS that entered the wrong key word and suggested to enter correct key word. I would like to register the following Unionor nos. DND.

    I am trying to register for Do not Distrub facility in full by sms and by calling 1909 but iam not iam getting the message has unable to process the request..

    I would not like to receive any kind of promotional messages and calls with immediate effect.

    And while i’m sending message START 0 to 1909, they replies that they ccan not comliete my request..

        Send SMS START 1,6 to 1909 from your Aircel mobile number to subscribe to NCPR (old DND) and still receive banking & online related calls & SMS only.

      Your mobile number 7737109932 is subscribed to NCPR with preference 0.
      To start receiving messages / calls from online web portals, change your preference to 6 by sending SMS START 6 to 1909 or call 1909.

  26. your 1909 is not working. my number is 8735036937 prepaid mobile number two times your company has deduct rs 28 and 20 from my balance without activate and without information and lot of unnecessary calls and sms comes to me it is head ache to me have request for dnd service but nothing happened. i need my balance back of rs 28 and and 20 which you cut from my balance any how . i gave complained to 198 he4 told me to give my balace back in 24 hours but nothing happened.

  27. one of the Fraudulent services are start by UNINOR Company and the payment deduct from the balance automatic which is not start by the consumer / Mobile holder….
